competition :: freefly_index
The Free Fly competition is split into two categories: Amateur and professional. One team consists of two flyers.The Free Fly competition is spread over two days and consists of nine rounds', three 'Compulsory rounds' and six 'Free rounds'.
Free Rounds
This is when the teams of two people perform artistic choreographed routines in the air, using the full space of the tunnel. Many of the manoeuvres the professionals display are considered to be very advanced skydiving: head down, Carving, layouts etc.
Compulsory Rounds
This is similar in format to the formation skydiving discipline, in that the competitors are given a set of formations which they need to complete and repeat as many times as they can in 60 seconds. The difference from formation skydiving is that these manoeuvres are not performed in just one position but instead are completed with the flyers in a range of head up or head down positions.
